With fall harvest underway and the warm temperatures holding, residents across the state are seeing an increase in tractors and combines both in the fields and on the roadways.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, soybean harvest in Illinois is 9 percent complete, yielding conditional ratings of 85 percent fair or better. Meanwhile, corn harvest is reportedly 11 percent complete and reporting conditions of 86 percent fair or better.
With harvest in full swing, motorists throughout Illinois are reminded to be cautious, stay aware and slow down as they share the roads with farmers and their equipment.
