Rose Announces Appointment of Mahomet Mayor and Former Champaign County Board Member to Mahomet Aquifer Task Force

SPRINGFIELD, IL- State Senator Rose (R-Mahomet) is congratulating Mahomet Mayor Jason Tompkins and former Champaign County Board Member James Goss on their appointment to the Mahomet Aquifer Task Force.

“Protecting the Mahomet Aquifer requires input from the people and communities who rely on it every day,” said Rose. “I appreciate Leader Curran for taking my recommendation to appoint these two high caliber individuals, and for recognizing the value of strong Central Illinois representation on the task force.”

The Mahomet Aquifer serves as the primary source of drinking water for more than one million Central Illinois residents, making local leadership on the task force especially important.

Illinois Senate Republican Leader John Curran also re-appointed Senator Rose to the task force and commented, “As everyone knows, Senator Chapin Rose has long championed the Mahomet Aquifer, this incredible freshwater resource for the people of Central Illinois,” said Curran. “I was glad to accept his recommendation and appoint these two individuals on behalf of the Republican side of the aisle.”
