SPRINGFIELD, IL – On the latest leg of his 51st Legislative District tour, State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) stopped in Sidell to meet with local officials on April 5.
“We had a very pleasant visit and tour with officials at the Jamaica School District last Thursday followed by a meeting with Vermilion County and local officials at the Brickstreet Café,” Rose said. “Economic development and job creation are sorely needed in downstate Illinois. As part of my on-going tour of the new 51st district I also stopped by light manufacturing and small businesses in the region that day and met with officials from the Heritage school district. It is my goal to meet with locally elected leaders, educational, agricultural, and economic development leaders to position us to be the workforce of tomorrow.”
At the Brickstreet Café meeting Sen. Rose noted that he had reached out to the Illinois Department of Transportation regarding the Fairmount-Sidell road. He is following up with a meeting between local officials and IDOT on the matter.
