Senator Chapin Rose Presents Certificate of Recognition to Steve Tenhouse

Steve Tenhouse, retiring Chief Executive Officer of Kirby Medical Center in Monticello, received a Certificate of Recognition from the Illinois State Senate by Senator Chapin Rose.

Steve Tenhouse, retiring Chief Executive Officer of Kirby Medical Center in Monticello, received a Certificate of Recognition from the Illinois State Senate by Senator Chapin Rose on Thursday, May 7. Tenhouse was guest of honor at an Open House at the Kirby Therapy and Wellness Center. He has given Kirby Medical Group 25 years of dedicated service.

Transitioning into the CEO position is Jennifer Moss. She has 22 years of healthcare leadership at Kirby Medical Center while serving as the hospital’s Chief Clinical Officer. A story on Jennifer was published in the April 22 issue of this newspaper.

The certificate read: “The Illinois Senate of the 104th General Assembly of the State of Illinois acknowledges Steve Tenhouse in recognition of 19 years of dedication and service to the Kirby Medical Center serving as CEO and calls for the commemoration of a successful career and further extends its wishes for happiness, health and continued success in all future endeavors.” The certificate was offered by Senator Sally J. Turner and Senator Chapin Rose.

According to Kirby Medical Center, Steve’s tenure has been defined by visionary leadership, organizational growth, and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. Under his guidance, Kirby Medical Center has earned national recognition for quality, patient satisfaction, and employee engagement, while expanding services and strengthening its role as a trusted healthcare resource in the region.

“Steve’s leadership has left a lasting impact on Kirby Medical Center and the community we serve,” said Gary Huisinga, Chair of the Kirby Medical Center Board of Directors. “His dedication, integrity and focus on excellence have positioned Kirby for long-term success. We are deeply grateful for his years of service.”

Steve Tenhouse has been instrumental in helping the Village of Atwood in many ways. The village has a Kirby Clinic on Rt. 36, with a Sav Mor Pharmacy located beside it. The residents of Atwood are very grateful for all Kirby has accomplished & supported in our village.

Reflecting on his time at Kirby, Tenhouse shared, “It has been an honor to serve alongside such an incredible team and to be part of a community that truly values compassionate, high-quality care. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident in the organization’s future.”
