Dear Friend,
Central Management Services (CMS) has established a hot-line and video from one of the recent seminars on the Total Retirement Advantage Illinois (TRAIL) program. There has been no new information from Governor Pat Quinn’s office at this point on additional providers.
Like many of you, I am not happy about the conduct of the executive branch during this switch to Medicare Advantage; however, I would urge you to choose a new provider at this point before the December 13 deadline as any addition of providers later would require a supplementary sign-up anyway. You do not want to take the chance of not signing up. Please click here to view the video on TRAIL and if you have questions about your retiree health insurance options, please call 1-800-610-2091. The CMS hotline is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Also, my friends at SURS reached out to let me know that they have free parking at their office and will be happy to help any members of their system who have individualized questions. A .pdf of their flier is here.
As we prepare to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends, let’s all remember those who were impacted by last week’s tornadoes. On Monday, I toured some of the storm damage in Douglas County where individuals lost their homes, as well as in Gifford which is just a few miles from the 51st Senate District lines. I was reminded of how lucky we are to live where we do, surrounded by wonderful neighbors who “pitch in” at a moment’s notice. During this season, let’s keep the victims of the storms in our thoughts and prayers and, if you are able, please consider joining me in making a donation to help these folks. For those in our around the Gifford area, you can click here to go to the donation page for that effort. For those in other parts of the state, please consider a donation to a relief organization of your choice.
If you have any legislative questions, please feel free to contact my office by e-mail at SenatorChapinRose@gmail.com.
Happy Holidays,
Chapin
