Springfield, IL – Having served on various House and Senate appropriations committees, State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) was today named to serve as Minority Leader Bill Brady’s (R-Bloomington) leadership budget negotiator in the new General Assembly.
As such, he will continue to serve on both Senate Appropriations Committee’s; but his focus will shift to the final budgeting process itself.
“I will continue to work on spending reform initiatives that help government constrain costs for the taxpayers, while delivering better and more efficient services to the citizens of Illinois,” said Rose.
Rose was also named ranking member of the Financial Institutions Committee for the Senate Republican caucus, and will continue as a member of the Higher Education and Insurance Committees.
The Senator, who represents all or portions of Champaign, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Macon, McLean, Moultrie, Piatt, Shelby, and Vermilion Counties, is also an Assistant Republican Leader for the Senate Republican Caucus.
