SPRINGFIELD, IL- State Senator Rose (R-Mahomet) issued the following statement following the end of the spring legislative session, where Illinois Democrats passed the largest budget in state history at $55 Billion, and the Senate voted to impose a new $1.50 statewide delivery tax to help bail out Chicago’s failing transit system:
“Democrats just passed a $55 billion budget that raises taxes, slashes education funding, shortchanges care for individuals with developmental disabilities, and bails out Chicago — all at the expense of working families across Illinois.”
“Taxpayer dollars continue to fund healthcare for illegal immigrants. Nearly $270 million in pork projects were added, while they cut funding for higher education, K-12 schools, and early childhood education. Meanwhile, families face rising property taxes — and instead of relief, Democrats cut the property tax relief fund!
“Illegals over the disabled, pork projects over school kids, property tax relief nowhere to be found, and massive tax increases on the working people of Illinois. That’s J.B. Pritzker’s record.
