Rose: Term limits enacted on Senate Leadership, Senate stands in stark contrast with the House

State Sen. Chapin Rose  issued the following statement Jan. 11 after the Senate adopted Senate Resolution 3, which enacts term limits of 10 years on the offices of Senate President and Senate Minority Leader.

“Today’s action by the Senate is in stark contrast to the House, where Democrats there reelected Speaker Madigan as their leader to a record 17th term – the continuation of more than three decades of power,” Rose said. “Thirty-four years of Madigan as Speaker has crippled Illinois.

“I was proud to sponsor this historic change to Senate rules to term limit leadership.

“Enough is enough. It’s time for the House to do the same.”
