Illinois’ Agriculture Leader Tours Major Decatur Employers

Decatur, IL – On March 13, Phil Nelson, the Acting Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, visited Decatur at the invitation of State Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet). Nelson and Rose, along with Dennis Hughes and Mike Stacey from the Macon County Farm Bureau, toured ADM. Rose and Nelson also toured Tate and Lyle.

“Agriculture is the number one employer and number one driver of the state’s economy,” Rose said. “We need to make sure employers like ADM and Tate and Lyle, along with farmers and producers, receive the support they need from Springfield to continue to create jobs, boost local economies, and feed the world.”
