SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) offered the following comments after he and Senators Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) and Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap) sent a letter to the federal government asking for the reconsideration of disaster aid. The Central Illinois Senators are asking for a repeal of the federal ruling in response to the November 17 tornadoes.
“As a state official, the enormity of the situation was self-evident. It is inconceivable to me that the federal authorities didn’t have the same impression. I’m guessing that if a tornado hit Chicago, President Obama – himself would have shown up with a check,” Rose said.
