CHAMPAIGN, IL – State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) is hosting two free Citizens Utility Board (CUB) and senior fraud prevention clinics in St. Joesph and LeRoy on August 14.
All interested senior citizens in eastern Champaign and southern McLean counties are invited to attend for information on fraud prevention strategies and ways to save money on phone, electric and gas bills. Free refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
The Attorney General’s Office will be on hand to speak about common consumer scams targeting senior citizens such as internet lotteries and mail fraud. The Treasurer’s I-Cash computer will be on site to allow seniors to search for unclaimed property.
