Sen. Rose “Transition Tour” continues with stop in Shelbyville

SPRINGFIELD, IL – On the latest leg of the 51st Legislative District “Transition Tour,” State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) met with local community leaders and elected officials on the western side of Shelby County and with county and local officials at the Shelbyville Monical’s Pizza on Jan. 30.

“Economic development and job creation is sorely needed in downstate Illinois.  As part of my on-going tour of the new 51st district, it is my goal to meet with locally elected leaders, chambers of commerce, school officials, and economic development directors, and other business leaders to see where the state can help in attracting and retaining downstate jobs and assessing local education and infrastructure needs,” Rose said.

On the 30th, Rose toured Central A & M schools, Jefferson School in Tower Hill, met with local officials in Moweaqua, and numerous community, county, and elected officials in Shelbyville.     The Senator stressed that his “Transition Tour” will be continuing throughout the spring legislative session and future legs will have him back in Shelby County soon.

“We had a great turnout for the local officials meeting.  Meetings like this are crucial because they involve a direct dialogue with the leaders who are closest to the citizens of the 51st District,” Rose concluded.
