SPRINGFIELD, IL – On the latest leg of the 51st Legislative District “Transition Tour,” State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) toured the Clinton Power Station and met with local community leaders on Jan 23.
“Clinton Power Station is an impressive major local employer. Employing roughly 750 people, the sheer size of the facility and its’ complex nature made for a very interesting visit,” Rose said. “Economic development and job creation is sorely needed in downstate Illinois. As part of my on-going tour of the new 51st district, it is my goal to meet with locally elected leaders, chamber of commerce and economic development directors, and other business leaders to see where the state can help in attracting and retaining downstate jobs.”
In this stop, Sen. Rose met with the Executive Director of the DeWitt County Development Council, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce President, Director and staff, the Mayor of Clinton, and a host of DeWitt County elected officials prior to and after the tour of Clinton Power Station. The Senator stressed that his “Transition Tour” will be continuing throughout the spring legislative session.
“I want to thank Bill Harris and the entire senior leadership team at the power station for the excellent briefing and tour,” Rose concluded.
