SPRINGFIELD, IL – Residents of central Illinois will have new representation in the State Senate as Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) took the oath of office for his first term.
“I am excited to get to work for the 200,000-plus constituents in the new 51st Senate District. I valued my time in the Illinois House and look forward to pushing for fiscal sanity in the Illinois state budget process. Our other top priorities must be for pro-job creation and easing burdensome regulatory policies,” Rose said.
The new 51st Senate District includes all or parts of Piatt, Champaign, Dewitt, Douglas, Edgar, McLean, Moultrie, Shelby and Vermilion counties. Rose previously served 10 years in the House of Representatives in the 110th district, which covered Champaign, Edgar, Coles, Piatt and Douglas Counties.
