SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) are announcing a $7.4 million road project for the Village of St. Joseph for Fiscal Year 2014. The upgrades of US 150 from Illinois 130 to Elm Street, in the Village will improve local traffic flow and enable commercial trucks to better navigate eastern Champaign County.
The US 150 project will occur within the next calendar year. Also, Interstate 74 around the St. Joseph-area is being slated for a major $17 million upgrade during the IDOT 2015-2019 five-year plan. The details are listed below.
$10.5 million for 8.5 miles of resurfacing and bridge deck repairs from University Avenue to 1.3 miles east of St. Joseph
$6.6 million for 5.3 miles of resurfacing from 1.3 miles east of St. Joseph to Illinois 49 in Vermilion County
