SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) offered the following comments after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) denied a state declaration for disaster assistance in response to the tornadoes of Nov. 17.
“I stand ready to assist the Governor’s Office in any way necessary in their appeal. I am also reaching out to our Congressional delegation to further stress its importance, which should have been self-evident to the federal government,” Rose said.
The November tornadoes ravaged portions of Champaign, Douglas and Vermilion counties in East Central Illinois.
