CHAMPAIGN, IL – Bellflower native, Dr. Laura Zimmerman who just recently finished her PhD from Illinois State University in Biological Sciences, also completed an internship with State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet), where she performed important research on the Mahomet Aquifer.
“Ms. Zimmerman was an excellent addition to our office with her advanced knowledge of biological sciences, she was invaluable to our on-going work to improve water quality in the Mahomet Aquifer Watershed,” Rose said. “I want to congratulate Laura on becoming Dr. Zimmerman and wish her the best of luck as she continues her public service as a higher education faculty member.”
Zimmerman worked extensively on researching the dangerous issues presented by the proposal in Clinton, Illinois to place highly toxic PCB’s over the Mahomet Aquifer.
