State Sen. Chapin Rose will serve as Assistant Republican Leader after being appointed by Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) Sept. 15. Rose previously served as Senate Republican Whip.
In the most recent session at the Statehouse, Rose was a lead negotiator in the bipartisan stopgap budget that was signed into law June 30. With the resignation of State Sen. Matt Murphy (R-Palatine), another key budget negotiator, Rose will continue to focus his expertise on the budget for the caucus and bringing fiscal stability to Illinois.
