The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that weather permitting; work is to begin on Monday, May 2nd on US 136 from Fisher to Dewey. The project includes 2.7 miles of patching, milling and resurfacing as well as adding new HMA shoulders.
Note: Due to the order of operations for patching, milling and resurfacing for this contract, a lip will be left on each side of the roadway at the shoulders until the area is paved. Should there be a rain event there may be water standing on the pavement. Motorists are asked to be extra cautious and drive slowly through the construction zone and be considerate of workers and other motorists. Motorists are urged to take a different route after a rain event if possible.
The contractor for this $1,150,000 project is Cross Construction. The project should be completed by the end of July, 2016.
